Giuseppe Bottiglieri orders two more post-Panamax bulk carriers

Giuseppe Bottiglieri orders two more post-Panamax bulk carriers Naples, Italy-based Giuseppe Bottiglieri di Navigazione SpA last week signed contracts for another two 92,500-deadweight-ton post-Panamax bulk carriers from Jiangsu Yangzijiang to add to the six sister vessels ordered from the Chinese yard in January.
   The new orders are worth a total of about $100 million.
   All eight ships in the series will be delivered from 2009 to 2010 and will be deployed on international trades, moving iron ore, coal and grain products.
   “This further investment in the dry cargo sector comes from my will to build up a modern fleet of bulk carriers,” said Giuseppe Bottiglieri, president of the family-owned company.
   “It is a strategy which matches with the opportunities coming from the deepening and widening of the Panama Canal and with my confidence in the further growth of China and India, nations which nowadays lead the world's economy.”
