Global Ship Lease seeks to raise capital    Global Ship Lease plans to raise up to $500 million to expand its fleet, debt repayment, working capital or general corporate purposes, it said in a prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
   Formed in 2007, Global has a fleet of 17 vessels with aggregate capacity of 66,297 TEU. All 17 are on charter to French container shipping company CMA CGM. It also has options to purchase two containerships from German interests that are on charter to Zim. CMA CGM owns about 45 percent of the outstanding common shares of Global Ship Lease.
   Global Ship Lease gave itself flexibility in the prospectus to sell a variety of securities — common or preferred stock, debt securities, warrants, rights or “units.”
