Gonzales named to Oakland port board
Gilda Gonzales has been sworn in as a member of the Oakland Board of Port Commissioners, the port said Thursday.
Gonzales will serve the remaining term of former commissioner Mark McClure, which runs through July 2012. Gonzales is chief executive officer of the Unity Council, a nonprofit community development group, and previously worked for 14 years in Oakland City Hall.
