GOODYEAR PICKS EXEL AS LEAD LOGISTICS PROVIDER

GOODYEAR PICKS EXEL AS LEAD LOGISTICS PROVIDER '    The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., based in Akron, Ohio, has named Exel, a U.K.-based provider of logistics services, as its lead logistics provider in North America.
   Goodyear has been working with Exel since 1996, through distribution centers in York, Pa.; Orlando, Fla.; Columbus, Ohio; Memphis; and Victorville, Calif.
   In that time, “significant positive results in inventories have improved our cash flow and fill-rates have improved our customer service,” said John Loulan, Goodyear’s vice president for operations, manufacturing and supply chain in North America.
   “This move will expand Exel’s reach into our supply chain network beyond its … management of our distribution centers,” Loulan explained.
