Governor recognizes innovative exporters

Governor recognizes innovative exporters Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has presented two Florida exporters with Governor's Business Diversification Awards, which recognize innovative companies that help broaden the state's economic base.
   The awards went to West Palm Beach-based 3i, a BIOMET Company, and Oceaneering Multiflex, which has an office in Panama City.
   3i, which comes from Implant Innovations Inc., is a developer and manufacturer of dental implant and other dental industry products. It has expanded into international markets, opening offices throughout Latin America and Europe, as well as in Asia.
   Oceaneering Multiflex designs and manufactures subsea equipment control umbilicals, which include cables, hoses, and flexible pipes for offshore activities. Their products are used for equipment from undersea tools to electrical power and communication lines. The company's primary markets are in the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea, and in Brazil.
   The awards, which also included domestic businesses, were presented in conjunction with Florida Enterprise, the state commerce department-type agency.
