The alliances in December joined two similar services as part of their winter season capacity rationalization programs. The Grand Alliance suspended its SCE loop and joined the New World Alliance's NYX loop, and provided three vessels on the merged service (under a similar arrangement, the New World carriers joined the Grand Alliance's SCE loop the previous winter).
American Shipper reported Monday it appeared the New World carriers were restarting the NYX loop. Of note, Zim has become a slot buyer on the Grand Alliance service.
