Great Lakes coal trade up in June

Great Lakes coal trade up in June    Coal shipments on the Great Lakes totaled nearly 3.9 million net tons in June, an 21.5 percent increase over May, and up 7.2 percent compared to June 2009.
   Loadings were 9.6 percent below the five-year average for the month.
   Year-to-date coal shipments stand at 10.7 million tons, a 2 percent decrease compared to a year ago, and 28 percent off the average for the past five years, said the Lake Carriers’ Association, which represents U.S.-flag shipping companies on the Great Lakes.
