Great Wall Airlines adds India to network    Startup Chinese cargo airline Great Wall Airlines will next Wednesday launch a twice-weekly freighter service from Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport to Mumbai and Chennai in India.
   Using a Boeing 747-400 freighter the new service will depart Shanghai every Wednesday and Saturday. From September, a third weekly flight, departing from the Chinese city on Saturdays, will be added.
   Great Wall Airlines is a joint venture between China Great Wall Industry Corp., Singapore Airlines Cargo and Dahlia Investments Pte Ltd., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings. The airline started operations in June with a six-time weekly freighter service between Shanghai and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
   “Our services will be the first and only direct scheduled freighter service between Shanghai, Mumbai and Chennai, providing direct freighter links between two of the most vibrant economies of the world,” said Tan Kai Ping, President, Great Wall Airlines.
