Greatwide Logistics acquires Camrett Inc

Greatwide Logistics acquires Camrett Inc Dallas-based Greatwide Logistics Services, a national provider of non-asset-based transportation and logistics services, said it has acquired Wytheville, Va.-based Camrett Inc. and related companies.
   Camrett provides dedicated contract carriage services to top businesses in a variety of industries including grocery, automotive, retail and wholesale. It has 90 drivers and had sales of $16.5 million in 2007 compared to Greatwide’s $1 billion. Both companies are private.
   Key Camrett customers include The Kroger Co, Pepsi Bottling Group, Gatorade, Crown Cork & Seal, Cardinal Glass, TRW Steering Gears, Atsumicar, and Volvo Logistics.
   The purchase will expand the company’s position in the grocery and food business and allow it to “expand geographically while simultaneously increasing our operational and market density in the Southeast,” said Ray Greer, chief executive officer of Greatwide.
