Greatwide shuffles key executives

Greatwide Logistics Services has named former Con-way executive Tyler Ellison group president of transportation management and sales, the company said last week.

Ellison spent the past two years as president of Con-way Multimodal, which continued to increase revenue and profits during the recession, according to Greatwide. Con-way Multimodal provides shippers access to a range of managed transportation options.

Prior to joining Con-way, he served as senior vice president of the Global Client Group at Schneider National, the largest U.S. truckload carrier. He was also vice president and general manager of transportation management at Schneider Logistics. He began his freight transportation career with Schneider National in 1996. He holds a master's degree in international logistics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Ellison takes over part of the responsibilities held by Chief Customer Officer Vincent Gulisano, who left the company Friday to pursue an entrepreneurial opportunity in distribution logistics, Chief Commercial Officer Dick Metzler confirmed. Gulisano was in charge of sales and marketing.

Ellison is the latest in a series of executive hires as Greatwide reorganizes itself following a bout with bankruptcy and an ownership change. (To read more about Greatwide's makeover, see 'Greatwide diversifies,' August American Shipper, page 38.)    — Eric Kulisch
