Greek ports look to privatize container terminals

The board of Greece’s Thessaloniki Port Authority has unanimously approved an open international tender for the sale of the port’s container terminal.

The successful bidder will have to finance the terminal’s upgrade and expansion.

The Piraeus Port Authority is also looking to privatize two of its three container wharfs, which has led to strike action from dockworkers in protest of the proposed sales.
