GRI Roundup: CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd

Ocean carriers CMA CGM of France and Hapag-Lloyd of Germany announced general rate increases.    Ocean carriers CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd issued general rate increases.
   CMA CGM will increase rates from the East Coast of South America to North European, Baltic, Mediterranean and Red Sea ports effective April 1. Rates will increase by $200 per TEU for dry containers; and $250 per FEU and 40-foot high cube dry containers.
   Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates for dry commodities from Canada and the United States to East Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East effective April 1. Rates from west coast ports will increase by $20 per TEU container and $25 per FEU container; while rates from east coast and gulf coast ports will increase by $40 per TEU container and $50 per FEU container. For inland port intermodal cargo, rates will increase by $80 per TEU container and $100 per FEU container.
   The German carrier will also increase rates from North Europe and the Mediterranean to East Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East effective April 1, excluding reefer and special equipment. Rates will increase by $150 per container from the North Continent and $100 per container from the Mediterranean.
