Ocean carriers Maersk Line, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, OOCL and MOL issued general rate increases.

   Ocean carriers Maersk Line, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, OOCL and MOL issued general rate increases.
   Maersk Line will increase rates from:
     • China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Myanmar, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Panama, and Santa Marta (Colombia), Barranquilla (Colombia) and Cartagena (Colombia) effective July 1. For dry containers, rates will increase by $1,050 per TEU, $1,500 per FEU and $1,500 per 40-foot high cube container; for reefer containers, rates will increase by $1,500 per FEU and $1,500 per forty-foot high cube container; and for non-operating reefer containers, rates will increase by $1,500 per 40-foot non-operating reefer container.
     • The same abovementioned Asian ports to Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Buenaventura (Colombia) effective July 1. For dry containers, rates will increase by $750 per TEU, $1,500 per FEU and $1,500 per 40-foot high cube container; for reefer containers, rates will increase by $1,500 per FEU and $1,500 per forty-foot high cube container; and for non-operating reefer containers, rates will increase by $1,500 per 40-foot non-operating reefer container.
     • North Europe to the United States effective July 1. For dry containers, rates will increase by $320 per TEU; and $400 per FEU, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot high cube containers.
     • Romania, Greece, Libya, Turkey, Ukraine, Israel, Russia, Egypt, Slovenia, Croatia, Georgia, Lebanon, Cyprus and Bulgaria to Charleston, S.C.; Port Everglades, Fla.; Baltimore, Md.; Savannah, Ga.; Norfolk, Va.; Newark, N.J.; Boston, Mass.; Houston, Texas; and New Orleans, La. effective July 1. For dry containers, rates will increase by $150 per TEU, FEU, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot high cube containers.
     • Italy, Spain, France, Malta, Portugal and Montenegro to the same abovementioned destinations in the United States effective July 1. For dry containers, rates will increase by $300 per TEU, FEU, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot high cube containers.
     • Far East Asia to West Africa effective July 1. For dry containers, rates will increase by $500 per TEU; and $1,000 per FEU, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot high cube containers. For reefer containers, rates will increase by $500 per TEU and $1,000 per FEU.
     • Far East Asia to the Mediterranean effective July 1. For dry and reefer containers, rates will increase by $1,250 per TEU; and $2,500 per FEU, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot high cube containers. In addition, rates to Syria for dry and reefer containers will increase by 1,000 euros per TEU; and 2,000 euros per FEU, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot high cube containers.
   In addition, Maersk Line issued a “Freight All Kinds (FAK)” rate increase from the Far East (main ports) to North Europe (main ports) effective July 1. Rates will increase by $1,400 per TEU reefer, $1,450 per TEU dry, $2,700 per FEU dry and reefer and $2,750 per FEU high cube.
   The Danish carrier also issued a FAK rate from Shanghai to Ambarli Port Istanbul effective July 1. Rates will increase by $1,650 TEU dry, $2,500 per TEU reefer, $2,700 per FEU dry, $2,700 per FEU high cube and $3,100 per FEU reefer.
   CMA CGM will increase rates from:
     • The East Coast of South America to North Europe, the Baltic, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean effective July 1. Rates will increase by $200 per TEU container and $300 per FEU container for dry and reefer cargo.
     • The East Coast of South America to the Caribbean, Colombia, Central America, the West Coast of South America, the U.S. East and Gulf coasts and Venezuela effective July 1. Rates will increase by $150 per TEU dry container and $300 per FEU dry container.
     • The East Coast of South America (including Argentina; Uruguay; Paraguay; and Itaguai, Santos, Paranagua, Itapoa, Navegantes, Rio Grande, Vitoria via Santos, Salvador via Santos and Suape via Santos) to Asia and Southeast Asia, East India and Oceania effective July 1. Rates will increase by $200 per TEU dry container and $300 per FEU dry container.
     • All Asian ports (including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to all Northern European ports (including the United Kingdom and the full range from Portugal to Finland and Estonia) for all cargo in two successive steps. On July 1, rates will increase by $750 per TEU and on July 15, rates will increase by an additional $250 per TEU.
     • All Asian ports to all Middle East Gulf ports for all cargo in two successive steps. On July 1, rates will increase by $100 per TEU and on July 15, rates will increase by an additional $100 per TEU.
     • The East Coast of South America to Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and the West Coast of India for all cargo effective July 15. Rates will increase by $200 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
     • Asia (including Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to Kenya and Tanzania for all container types effective July 15. Rates will increase by $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU.
     • The Indian Subcontinent and Middle East Gulf to West Africa for dry, OOG and breakbulk cargo effective July 16. Rates will increase by $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU.
   The French carrier is also issuing FAK rate increases from Asia to the Mediterranean and Asia to North Africa July 1 and again on July 15.
   Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates from:
     • East Asia (excluding Japan) to the Arabian Gulf for all cargo and container types effective July 1. Rates will increase by $100 per TEU.
     • East Asia to the East Coast of South America for all cargo and container types effective July 1. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU.
     • The Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East to North Europe and the Mediterranean effective July 15. Rates will increase by $200 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
     • East Asia to Mexico, the West Coast of Central America and the West Coast of South America for all cargo and container types effective July 15. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU container and $1,500 per FEU container.
     • East Asia to the Caribbean, the East Coast of Central America, Panama, the Gulf of Mexico and Progreso for all cargo and container types effective July 15. Rates will increase by $1,050 per TEU container and $1,500 per FEU container.
     • East Asia to the U.S. and Canada for all dry, reefer, non-operative reefer, flat rack and open-top containers effective July 17. Rates will increase by $480 per TEU standard container; $600 per FEU standard container and 40-foot high cube container; and $760 per 45-foot container.
   OOCL will increase rates from the Far East (excluding Japan) to North Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea effective July 1. Rates will increase by $1,100 per TEU.
   MOL will increase rates from Asia (including the Indian Subcontinent) to the East Coast of South America for all cargo effective July 1. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU and $1,500 per FEU for dry containers, and $1,500 per FEU-RAD (NOR) containers.
