GRI Roundup: Maersk Line, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd

Ocean carriers Maersk Line, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd issued general rate increases on various trades.    Ocean carriers Maersk Line, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd have issued general rate increases.
   Maersk Line will increase rates from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Panama and Colombia (Santa Marta, Barranquilla and Cartagena) effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $700 per TEU and $1,000 per forty-foot container (FEU) and 40-foot high cube dry container.
   The Danish carrier will also increase rates from the abovementioned Asian ports to Colombia (Buenaventura), Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU and $1,500 per FEU and 40-foot high cube dry container.
   In addition, Maersk Line will increase rates from Far East Asia to the United States effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $480 per TEU, $600 per FEU, $700 per forty-foot high cube container and $750 per 45-foot high cube dry container.
   CMA CGM will increase rates on all cargo from all Asian ports (including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Ain Sokhna, Egypt; Aqaba, Jordan; Djibouti; Port Sudan, Sudan; and Aden, Yemen effective Nov. 15. Rates will increase by $150 per TEU.
   The French carrier will also increase rates on all cargo from all Asian ports (including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to all North European ports (including the United Kingdom and the full range from Portugal to Russia) effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $950 per TEU.
   Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates on all cargo and all container types from:

• East Asia to Mexico, the West Coast of Central America and the West Coast of South America effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU.
• East Asia to the Caribbean, the East Coast of Central America and Panama effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $700 per TEU and $1,000 per FEU.
• East Asia to the East Coast of South America effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU.
• East Asia (excluding Japan) to the Arabian Gulf effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $300 per TEU.
• East Asia (excluding Japan) to all North Europe and Mediterranean destinations effective Dec. 1. Rates will increase by $650 per TEU.
