GRI roundup: Maersk Line, CMA CGM, UASC, MOL, CSCL and “K” Line

Ocean carriers Maersk Line, CMA CGM, UASC, MOL, CSCL and “K” Line announced rate increases.

   Ocean carriers Maersk Line, CMA CGM, UASC, MOL, CSCL and “K” Line have announced general rate increases on several trades.
   CMA CGM will increase cargo rates from all Asian ports to all Middle East Gulf ports by $200 per 20-foot container (TEU) July 15. Rates will increase from all Asian ports to Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India by $100 per TEU and $100 per 40-foot container (FEU) July 15.
   The French carrier has also issued three rate increases effective Aug. 1. Rates will increase from all Asian ports (including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to all North Europe ports (including the United Kingdom and the full range from Portugal to Russia) by $950 per TEU. Rates from the Far East and Japan to the West Mediterranean, East Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black Sea and North Africa will increase by $950 per TEU. Rates from the Far East and Japan to Syria will increase by 850 euros (U.S. $937.35) per TEU. In addition, rates from all Asian ports (including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to West Africa will increase by $400 per container.
   Maersk Line will increase rates from Far East Asia to East Africa, effective July 15. Rates will increase $100 per TEU, $200 per FEU and $200 per 40-foot high cube dry container.
   On Aug. 1, Maersk will increase rates from Asia (excluding Japan) to North Europe by $1,000 per TEU. Rates will also increase Aug 1. from Far East Asia to North America by $480 per TEU , $600 per FEU, $700 per 40-foot high cube and $750 per 45-foot high cube dry container.
   CSCL and “K” Line will increase rates from Asia to North Europe and Asia to the Mediterranean by $1000 per TEU, effective Aug. 1.
   MOL will increase rates from Asia to North Europe and Asia to the Mediterranean $1000 per TEU, effective Aug. 1.
   UASC will increase rates from Asia to Europe $975 per TEU and $1,950 per FEU, effective Aug. 1.
