Group to recognize regional transportation leaders

Tony Coscia, chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, will be recognized Friday as “Transportation Person of the Year” by the Newark Regional Business Partnership.

   The group marks National Transportation Week each year by honoring individuals in all segments of transportation for their work in improving the region’s transportation network.

   At its annual transportation awards breakfast, George Warrington, former executive director of New Jersey Transit will be given a “Career Achievement Award.”

   The group will also give “Leadership Awards” to: Pam Fischer, director of the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety; Gail E. Toth, executive director of the New Jersey Motor Truck Association; Philip K. Beachem, president of Alliance for Action; Mary K.
