GT Nexus adds truck capability to service

GT Nexus said it had added new capabilities designed to support truck transportation to its transportation management system.

The company said the internet-based truck features link and extend GT Nexus' ocean and air spend management services.

John Urban, president of GT Nexus said “while we have always supported all transport modes for visibility, customers asked us to extend the solution so they could manage their truck spend on the same platform.” He said the service is “battle tested, in use at several customers, and commercially available to the market.”

GT Nexus said it is providing a “central, secure, cloud-based repository for contract and rate information, which supports ocean, air and truck transportation. Users access the platform through a standard Web browser, to retrieve and compare routes, rates and service metrics across carriers.”

“With centralization of this crucial information, shippers can automate procurement, optimization, contract management, visibility, execution and audit operations,” it added.
