GT Nexus inks Medline deal

Oakland, Calif.-based trade software company GT Nexus has won a contract from Medline Industries Inc. to provide the medical products company with an enhanced global logistics management platform.

Medline, the nation’s largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of health care products, manufactures and distributes more than 100,000 products to hospitals, extended care facilities, surgery centers, home care dealers and agencies. With multiple manufacturing sites and suppliers worldwide, Medline manufactures many of the products it sells and delivers direct to the marketplace. The company sells in every state and in more than 20 countries.

'With the growth of our global supply chain operation, the time had come to further enhance the way we run our logistics network,' said Mike Collins, vice president of inbound transportation and logistics at Medline.

GT Nexus is a cloud supply chain platform that is shared by large enterprise customers from every business vertical. Companies manage their physical and financial supply chains on GT Nexus via supply chain visibility, trade finance, business intelligence, freight contracting, and supplier enablement functions. The applications are fused with a network of third-party logistics providers, carriers, banks and suppliers who work with other GT Nexus customers.

'As a leader in their industry, Medline's presence on the platform elevates the medical products vertical as one of the most well-represented business segments on GT Nexus,' said John Urban, president of GT Nexus.
