Guyana reorganizes its shipping association
The Shipping Association of Guyana says it has completed a restructuring that will improve the effectiveness of its governing structure.
The association has been transformed into a trusteeship and the group has appointed a new management committee, chaired by Andrew Astwood, acting managing director of Guyana National Shipping Corporation.
The completion of the restructuring is the result of a three-year strategic plan. The changes were based in part on a project of the Canadian International Development Agency, which provided a framework for new constitutional requirements, the association noted.
