   Forum organizers say Haiti has seen considerable progress since President Rene Preval took office in May 2006, with improved security, government and political stability, and reduced inflation and corruption all working to strengthen the business climate. They have also cited the benefits of the U.S. HOPE Act, which has helped several sectors of the Haitian economy.
   The conference is being organized by officials from the Haitian government, the Organization of American States, and the Inter-American Development Bank. Additional financial support is being provided by the government of Canada.
