Hamburg Sud consolidates Southern California calls at Long Beach

Germany’s Hamburg Sud is switching all of its calls in Southern California to ITS Terminals at the Port of Long Beach and dropping Eagle Marine Services at the Port of Los Angeles.

ITS already handles Hamburg Sud’s weekly service to South America’s West Coast and its fortnightly service to the Pacific Islands. The Pacific Southwest service to Australia-New Zealand will switch to ITS on June 15 with the port call of the Hansa Rendsburg while the Pacific Northwest string will move to ITS when the Kapitan Afanasyev calls on June 20.

“The consolidation gives Hamburg Sud customers a single terminal location, thereby streamlining the delivery and pickup of cargoes in the Southern California region,” the carrier said in a statement.
