Hamburg Süd has launched a new subsidiary in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to coordinate its business in the Persian Gulf region.

German ocean carrier Hamburg Süd has launched its first proprietary shipping agency in the Middle East, the company said in a statement.
New subsidiary Hamburg Süd Shipping LLC commenced operations Feb. 1 at the company’s new office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The agency, which will coordinate all Hamburg Süd’s business in the Persian Gulf region, takes over from long-time local agency partner Inchcape Shipping Services LLC (ISS). ISS will continue to handle vessel and customs clearance in the ports of Jebel Ali and Khor Fakkan.
“By establishing a proprietary office in the high-growth metropolis of Dubai, Hamburg Süd can respond even better to the requirements of its customers in the region,” the company said.
