Hamburg Sud names fourth 3,752-TEU ship from DSME
Germany’s Hamburg Sud on Monday christened the fourth of six 3,752-TEU boxships commissioned from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. (DSME).
The Bahia Grande will be phased into Hamburg Sud’s liner service between Asia, South Africa and the South America East Coast.
The dimensions of the 50,800-deadweight-ton vessels in the series are 254 meters (833 feet) long and 32.2 meters (106 feet) wide, with a maximum draft of 12.4 meters (40.7 feet). Each ship has 610 reefer container plugs and a speed of 21.5 knots.
