Hamburg Sud takes Ellerman’s German agency activities in-house    Hamburg Sud is bringing in-house all the agency duties for the Ellerman liner services of the group, effective Jan. 1.
   The agency activities for Ellerman, a British liner shipping operator whose deep sea activities were acquired by Hamburg Sud at the beginning of 2003, have been carried out by third-party agent Van Ommeren.
   Ellerman provides services on the following routes: Europe/Levant, Europe/Eastern Mediterranean/Israel, U.K. West Coast/Eastern Mediterranean/Israel, Europe/India/Pakistan, Europe/Malta, and intra-Mediterranean.
   Hamburg Sud, which is eliminating the brand names Crowley American Transport and Columbus Line, said that it will keep the brand name Ellerman.
