HANJIN ADDS 5,600-TEU SHIPS TO U.S./ASIA/EUROPE SERVICE

   Hanjin Shipping is phasing in two new 5,600-TEU chartered ships into its U.S. West Coast/Asia/northern Europe PDM1 container service, operated as part of the United Alliance.

   German finance and ship owning concern Conti Reederei has named the two new vessels the Hanjin Vienna and the Hanjin Geneva. The vessels are the last two in a series of seven new 5,600-TEU-class container ships chartered by Hanjin Shipping from Conti Reedrei.

   With the 5,600-TEU series completed, Hanjin Shipping next expects to introduce five 4,500-TEU ships commencing in late 2001.

   Hanjin Shipping is a member of the United Alliance, alongside Senator Lines and Cho Yang.
