Hapag-Lloyd increase security fee

Citing rising costs for security, Hapag-Lloyd said it will increase its carrier security fee to $10 per container in trades with ocean freights billed in dollars and to 8 euro in trades billed in euros, effective March 1.

Last year, the German carrier had increased the fee from $7 to $8 and from 5 euro to 6 euro.

The company noted security fees at terminals will be handled separately.
