Hapag-Lloyd takes delivery of new ship    Hapag-Lloyd said it took delivery of its latest newbuilding, the Vienna Express, Monday.
   The 8,750 TEU ship has environment friendly technology, with an main engine that can cut fuel consumption by adapting main engine performance to a reduced speed range, the company said. Main engine performance, originally designed for 68,640 kW, was reduced to 51,480 kW. The newbuilding also has a variable exhaust gas bypass for the turbocharger, which is regulated by the electronic engine control.
   The ship will be deployed, along with 11 more units of the same size, in Loop B of the Grand Alliance service between Europe and Asia with a rotation of Dalian, Xingang, Pusan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Cagliari, Jeddah, Jebel Ali, Singapore, Shekou, Qingdao, Pusan and Dalian.
