Hapag-Lloyd, Zim amend Europe/West Africa loop    The Israel-based liner carrier Zim said Thursday the rotation of a service it jointly operates with Hapag-Lloyd will be amended as of April 5.
   The line's NAF service, which Hapag-Lloyd calls WAX, will have a revised rotation of Antwerp, Hamburg, Thamesport, Antwerp, Dakar, Tin Can Island, Tema, Abidjan, Amsterdam and Antwerp. According to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data, the service operates with three vessels, two from Hapag-Lloyd and one from Zim, with an average capacity of 1,717 TEUs.
   The revised rotation includes new calls at Thamesport and at Abidjan — though Zim said the Abidjan call 'will resume once European sanctions (have been) lifted.' The EU has sanctions in place against the government of the Ivory Coast.
   Zim said the Amsterdam call 'will be seasonal, aimed at serving the cocoa trade from West Africa.'
   MOL also takes slots on the service, which it calls ARN.
