Haven adds carrier performance measurement tools to TMS

The logistics software provider, which has made fast inroads into the food producer and commodity trading markets, will now offer users tools to quickly assess carrier metrics.    Logistics software company Haven has released a new feature that allows users to compare the performance of their service providers using data generated through its platform, the company said in a statement Thursday.
   The tool, called Provider Performance Analytics, is intended to let Haven users “analyze and leverage their data to make better decisions and increase carrier performance,” the company said.
   Haven’s platform is a global transportation management system that connects commodity traders, food producers, and shippers to thousands of logistics providers. The goal of the system is to automate procurement, visibility, documentation generation and other core processes to drastically reduce the time associated with such activities.
   The service provider analytics feature lets users measure carrier allocation, on-time percentage, response times and rate competitiveness, and rank providers on a global, trade lane and port pair basis. The tool is also intended to help Haven customers use their data to drive contract negotiations and future allocation decisions, the company said.
   “Haven has been instrumental in our ability to bring carrier management in-house,” said Sean Ginnane, general manager of Henry Bath Asia, a global metals trader. “Ultimately, Henry Bath wants to work with the providers who will give us the best and most consistent overall performance.”
