Heavy lift hover-barge ready for construction    Hovertrans Solutions Pte. Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of hover-barges for heavy lift transport in shallow waters, will build a 50-ton payload hover-barge for charter in the third quarter.
   Hovertrans, a subsidiary of ST Marine, said the hover-barge will be capable of carrying cargo or equipment over swamps, wetlands, tundra, ice and shallow water, opening possibilities for oil and gas exploration and remote field development.
   Manufactured from cold weather steel and with a specialized skirt system, this hover-barge can operate in temperatures ranging from 40' Celcius to -40 C.
   The hover-barge is also designed using a modular concept and involves connection of ISO container-sized pontoon units and a skirt frame. This enables the unit to be shipped around the world using most conventional shipping, keeping transportation costs down for customers. Reassembly and commissioning of the hover-barge can be completed within a day, the company said.
