H÷egh Autoliners to start Brazil/South Africa/Middle East/Far East PCTC service    Norwegian roll-on/roll-off operator H'egh Autoliners in January will start a monthly pure car truck carrier (PCTC) service from Brazil to South Africa, the Middle East and Far East, replacing the current shuttle service between Brazil and Durban, South Africa.
   The new PCTC service will call at Rio Grande, Santos, Durban, Dubai, Singapore, Shanghai and Masan. Durban will be the transshipment port for vehicles for Australia, East Africa and ports in the Indian Ocean. Dubai will be the transshipment port for vehicles destined to the Middle East while Singapore will be the transshipment port for vehicles destined to Southeast Asia.
   H'egh Autoliners said that it has secured a contract to transport Scania trucks on the new service.
   The export of new vehicles from Brazil has shown a strong growth in recent years, with total export volume reaching about 650,000 units in 2004, said H'egh Autoliners.
