Hellmann joins Cargo 2000

Germany's Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has joined Cargo 2000, an air carrier and freight forwarder program that aims to reduce the number of processes in the air cargo supply chain.

Hellmann's air freight business generated 850 million euros ($1.1 billion) of the company's total 2.5 billion euros ($3.3 billion) revenue in 2005.

'With a large number of our airline partners also members of Cargo 2000, we believe membership of the group is now an important factor for our business in the eyes of our customers,' said Roger Haeussler, Hellman's global chief operating officer and director of operations.

Cargo 2000's forwarding members include DHL, Kuehne + Nagel, Schenker, TNT Freight Management and UTI Worldwide.
