HELLMANN RESTRUCTURES WESTERN OPERATIONS

HELLMANN RESTRUCTURES WESTERN OPERATIONS

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, as part of a restructuring of its Western Hemisphere operations, has named Karl Weyeneth president and chief executive officer for the Americas and P. Robert Doernte as president and CEO of Hellmann USA.

Weyeneth's responsibilities cover six countries with 43 offices and more than 800 employees for the logistics firm.

“We have recently opened new company-owned offices in Chile and Brazil, and that is just the beginning of our expanded presence in the Americas,” Weyeneth said.

Weyeneth entered the transportation and logistics industry in 1995 with Danzas as chief financial officer for Latin America. He joined Hellmann in July 1999 as business controller for the America region and in November 1999 assumed the interim duties of president and CEO of Hellmann's US operations.

Doernte served as president and CEO of Schenker Inc. USA since 1995, directing its 45 offices and more than 1,000 employees. He served as president and CEO of Union Transport Corp. USA from 1985 to 1995, after serving 11 years with Kuehne & Nagel in various positions with the company's U.S. operations.

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, based in Osnabruck, Germany, has 18 offices in the U.S., including its Miami headquarters
