HERMES AVIATION NAMED SALES AGENT FOR C.A.L. CARGO AIR LINES

   'Hermes Aviation, a division of Mercury Air Group, has been appointed general cargo sales agent for C.A.L. Cargo Air Lines, an Israeli all-cargo carrier.

   The initial three-year contract, valued at $2 million, includes an option to extend the contract until 2006.

   C.A.L. began operating two weekly B747 freighters from New York’s JFK to Tel Aviv via Luxembourg on Sept. 9 with a cargo capacity of 100 tons per flight.

   Hermes Aviation operates sales offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Mexico City and Guadalajara. In 1999/2000, the company generated revenues of more than $65 million for 20 airlines.
