HEWLETT-PACKARD STARTS PRIVATE NETWORK

   The Hewlett-Packard Co., a provider of computers and copiers, has chosen GT Nexus, based in Alameda, Calif., a provider of electronic commerce logistics services, to manage HP’s global ocean shipments.

   Specifically, GT Nexus provides online visibility and control for HP customers through a private logistics network “implemented in about 45 days,” said Maryanna Kersten. ocean program manager at HP.

   GT Nexus was formerly known as Tradiant.
