Hijacked ship docks at Somali port
A Dutch ship hijacked by pirates Sunday in the Gulf of Aden has arrived in a northern Somali port.
The Associated Press quoted the foreign minister of the semiautonomous region of Puntland as saying the Amiya Scan has arrived in the coastal town of Bargal.
A nine-man crew was onboard the ship with an unknown number of pirates.
The owner, Reider Shipping, said the ship was transporting a knocked-down oil platform from Kenya to Romania when it was attacked Sunday.
Initial reports were that the crew was not being maltreated, but AP said the company has declined to comment on the demands of the pirates out of concern for the crew's safety.
