Hitachi Transport takes over Vantec

Hitachi Transport takes over Vantec    Hitachi Transport System Ltd. has become the majority shareholder of Vantec Corp.
   On April 19, Hitachi Transport acquired 209,550 shares of Vantec. The company now holds 90.12 percent of the voting rights of Vantec and became the top shareholder. Hitachi Transport said Vantec will continue to provide logistics services under its own name.
   Vantec has a strong presence in the automotive logistics sector, which complements Hitachi Logistics' knowledge in other logistics areas, the Japanese firm said.
   Hitachi Transport noted Vantec offers services in sea and air freight and warehouse and transport services. Vantec has offices in the Netherlands, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, and United States.
