HK cargo handler adds IATA training center

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd. (Hactl), the biggest air cargo handler at the world’s largest air cargo hub, said Wednesday it has set up the first International Air Transport Association (IATA) Authorised Training Center (ATC) for cargo in Hong Kong.
The goal of the center is to increase competency levels for air cargo practitioners in the industry. The training institute will provide distance learning and e-learning modules for those wanting to upgrade their knowledge or start a career in the industry, Hactl said.
The Hactl ATC, which goes live in the second half of 2012, will provide a range of IATA training courses covering subjects such as dangerous goods, live animals, infectious substances and perishables.
