HMM America selects new president and CEO

The ocean liner shipper promoted David Arsenault to top spot.    David J. Arsenault was promoted to president and chief executive officer of Hyundai Merchant Marine America and Hyundai America Shipping Agency responsible for North, Central and South America. He is the first localized president and CEO in the history of HMM.
   A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, Arsenault is an industry veteran with over 28 years of industry experience in operations, sales, trade management, technology and logistics including five years in Asia where he served as country manager in Thailand and later Taiwan for Sea-Land Service.
   Arsenault also spent time on the 3PL side of the business, helping to create Maersk Logistics through the integration of Buyers Consolidators and Mercantile.
   He then transitioned to the maritime technology sector, working at GT Nexus before becoming senior vice president at Globe Wireless.
   In 2004, Arsenault joined HMM, where he was responsible for sales until his recent promotion.
