Hoegh Autoliners to own Autotrans outright

Norwegian roll-on/roll-off operator Hoegh Autoliners has agreed to buy Marseille-based Groupe Navitrans’ 50 percent share in their joint French forwarding and logistics company Autotrans for an undisclosed sum.

Paris-based Autotrans specializes in the car market serving France and its overseas territories in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, and New Caledonia. Autotrans has satellite offices in Le Havre, Marseilles, Antwerp and Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe with a total staff of 48.

“The business that Autotrans is successfully developing is increasingly becoming strategically important to the core business of Hoegh Autoliners. The ability to offer a high quality and cost effective transportation chain is of vital importance to Hoegh Autoliners’ strategy going forward,” Hoegh Autoliners said in a statement.
