Hollis co-chairs industry tech standards group

GS1 EPCglobal has appointed Tony Hollis, director of innovation and technology management at Exel, as co-chair of the Transportation and Logistics Services Industry Action Group (TLS IAG).

During the past several years, Hollis has worked with GS1 EPCglobal, a not-for-profit standards organization, to create the TLS IAG, which is a gathering place of many large global transportation and logistics providers. It is the group’s goal to improve transportation and logistics services in the supply chain by enriching data moved within the supply chain via radio frequency identification devices and other wireless technologies.

TLS IAG works with IT providers, manufacturers, retailers and government agencies that are part of EPCglobal’s community. Since its inception, TLS IAG has carried out a series of global pilots to evaluate the viability of RFID-enabled hardware and software to track shipments worldwide.

As part of his co-chair position, Hollis also participates in steering committees and strategy development within GS1 EPCglobal.
