HONG KONG STEVEDORE MTL PROVIDES PEARL RIVER LINKS    Modern Terminals Ltd., the Hong Kong container terminal operator, is introducing a feeder service to move cargoes to and from the Pearl River Delta in mainland China.
   An integrated feeder and terminal services network in the Pearl River Delta, called “Inland Gate,” will provide shipping lines, consignees and shippers with a reliable way to move import and export containers between Modern Terminals and major manufacturing centres in the Pearl River Delta, the terminal operator said.
   Modern Terminals will accept export containers at dedicated feeder terminals in the Pearl River Delta, and take responsibility for connecting them to their nominated mother vessels at Modern Terminals in Hong Kong. Real-time information on containers will be available once they arrive at the feeder terminals. The company will provide the same one-stop-shop service for import containers passing through Modern Terminals to final destinations in the Pearl River Delta.
   Modern Terminals will provide daily feeder services and a fixed berthing schedule at feeder terminals in the Pearl River Delta and Modern Terminals.
   The Hong Kong company has introduced its first Inland Gate link — a service between Hong Kong and Zhongshan Harbor Foreign Trade Service Port at Zhongshan. The service is provided in cooperation with Sinotrans.
