Hong Kong’s August box volumes up just 0.9%
Container traffic at the port of Hong Kong increased just 0.9 percent in August to 2.01 million TEUs.
The Kwai Chung container terminal posted a year-on-year volume growth in August of 2.4 percent to 1.3 million TEUs. Other port facilities reported a 1.8 percent decline in box traffic to about 700,000 TEUs.
For the year-to-date Hong Kong’s container throughput is up only 1.2 percent at 14.6 million TEUs.
