Hong Kong’s box volumes rise 3.3% in October

   The port of Hong Kong topped 2 million TEUs in October, up 3.3 percent compared to the same month last year. The monthly figure also represents the port’s highest throughput for the year so far.

   The Kwai Chung container terminal posted year-on-year volume growth in October of 3.5 percent to 1.29 million TEUs. The port’s other terminals reported a 3.1 percent improvement in volume to 710,000 TEUs.

   For the year to date Hong Kong’s container throughput is up 1.7 percent at 18.6 million TEUs.
