Horizon Lines acquires Aero Logistics

Horizon Lines acquires Aero Logistics    Horizon Lines, the Jones act carrier that operates a service between the Port of Jacksonville and Puerto Rico, has acquired national third-party logistics provider Aero Logistics as part of it program to expand its logistics services. Terms were not disclosed.
   Horizon last week said it is forming Horizon Logistics to handle its growing integrated logistics services line of business.
   Aero Logistics is based in South San Francisco and has a national network of multimodal transportation services. The company puts together custom freight and special handling programs for industries including retail and apparel, high tech, health care, energy, and mining. Services include air freight, trucking and warehousing services.
   It also operates Aero Transportation, which provides expedited less-than-truckload and full-truckload service throughout North America.
