Horizon Lines to suspend one of its U.S./Puerto Rico links Charlotte-based Horizon Lines will suspend one of its weekly U.S./Puerto Rico shuttle services next week. The U.S.-flag carrier said it is suspending the “Midweek Express Service (MJX)” to perform vessel maintenance.
   The “MJX” service has called at Jacksonville on Thursdays and arrives/departs from San Juan on Sundays. The existing “Jacksonville Express Service” and “South Atlantic Express Service,” calling at Jacksonville on Tuesday and Friday respectively, will continue.
   The last voyage before the suspension of the “MJX” service will be made by the “Horizon Challenger” when it departs Jacksonville Dec. 16.
   Horizon Lines said it plans to resume the “MJX” service some time during the first quarter next year depending on market demand.
