Horizon matching Matson rate hike
Horizon Lines will follow Matson Navigation in raising its freight rates to Hawaii, the magazine Pacific Business News reported.
It quotes a letter from Horizon to customers that stated westbound shipping rates will increase 3.3 percent starting January 1, or about $100 per container if it originates in a West Coast port and $175 at an inland destination.
The magazine also said Horizon will increase terminal handling fees by $150 for containers arriving in Hawaii and $75 for those headed to the mainland.
