House committee to prepare bill on airliner missile defense
The U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure aviation subcommittee will make final edits Thursday on a bill designed to provide interim measures to protect commercial aircraft from shoulder-fired missiles.
The Commercial Aviation MANPADS Defense Act of 2004, H.R. 4056, was introduced earlier this session by Reps. John Mica, R-Fla.; Peter DeFazio, D-Ore.; and Steve Israel, D-N.Y.
