HUB ANNOUNCES INTERMODAL IT INITIATIVES    HUB Group Inc., the Illinois-based logistics management company, said it is implementing new information technology systems to improve its intermodal drayage and local over-the-road delivery operations.
   Hub Group has purchased software from Chicago-based Creative Systems Corp. to manage drayage
operations at its seven Quality Services locations.
   In a separate deal, Hub Group signed a contract with QUALCOMM Inc. to become one of the first intermodal drayage users of QUALCOMM's OmniExpress” wireless communications system. OmniExpress is a fleet management system that provides real-time, two-way communications and vehicle reporting. Hub said the system will allow its Quality Services unit to integrate its pick-up and delivery systems in metropolitan areas.'
   “Our goal is to bring electronic technologies to every level of service within the intermodal process,” said Jim Ronchetto, vice president and general manager of Hub Group's Quality Services operations.
