Human infects Canadian swine with H1N1 virus    The Canadian Food Inspection Agency tentatively confirmed Saturday that swine from a herd in Alberta, Canada, has tested positive with the same strain of H1N1 virus causing illness in humans.
   According to the agency, a Canadian carpenter who had been in Mexico, and upon return was showing flu-like symptoms, did work on the Alberta farm, and subsequently the family and swine on the farm became ill.
   'Additional details about the Alberta situation are that no sick swine have left the farm, and the animals and premises have been quarantined,' said U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, in a statement. 'The swine and humans are recovering and appear healthy.'
   Vilsack said the novel H1N1 strain causing illness in humans has not infected U.S. swine, and he assured the public that it is not a food-borne illness. 'The American food supply is safe and pork and pork products are safe,' he said.
   Vilsack added that the discovery in Alberta 'will not impact our borders or trading with Canada.'
